Our Degustation +

Last weekend a group of friends got together and had our own little degustation. There were 8 of us (4 couples), with each couple preparing 2 courses each with a matching wine. So, throughout the night we had 8 courses, by the end of the night I can definitely say, it is the most full my tummy has ever been! We had such a great night, I thought I would share some of my pics.

Thanks to Emma & Jesse for hosting at their house and the beautiful table spread!

Course 1 (Josh & I) Sesame Seed Crusted Tuna Sashimi

All the girls wore flower headpieces and the boys wore flowers in their shirts.. ahh flowers!

Course 2 (Luke & Sarah) Wild Mushroom Soup with Freshly Baked Crusty Sourdough

Course 3 (Josh & I) Prosiotto Wrapped Figs stuffed with Blue Cheese

Course 4 (Luke & Sarah) Crispy Skinned Atlantic Salmon with Fresh Noodle Salad

Course 5 (Jesse & Emma) Twice Cooked Star Anise Pork Belly

Course 6 (Sam & Heidi) Slow-Cooked BBQ Beef Ribs on a bed of Skordalia with Broccolini

Course 7 (Jesse & Emma) Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Rasberry Coulis and Salted Macadamia toffee

Course 8 (Heidi & Sam) We moved onto the couches for a cheese platter with seasonal fruit and some port x

  1. This looks incredible. How did your hosts have so many plates for that many courses?? Was it chaos in the kitchen or did everyone stay organized? Very impressive.

    • It was actually fine! We all prepared as much as we could before we got there, so it was minimal preparations on the night. However it does last a long time, so prepare for a late night! x
